Meet Belle

Michelle “Belle” Washington is a certified birth doula (DONA), HelloBirth Hypnobirthing instructor, Hypnobabies’ hypnodoula, trained fertility doula, postpartum doula, PAIL doula, abortion doula, LGBTQ+ birth advocate, holistic childbirth educator, and placenta encapsulator! Belle has been in birthwork for 7+ years. She is a momma to a cat, Femi, and 36 houseplants (and counting!). Belle believes education is the key to the birth, postpartum, and parenting journeys you desire.

Doula Belle is cross-trained in nutrition, body alignment and movement, and herb usage during the perinatal time; newborn feeding and nursing, diapering options and safety, safe sleeping, trauma and cultural competency, and many other Birthy things. She provides support for ALL types of families and birthers; first-time parents, single parents, adoptive, those with religion specific needs, LGBTQ+, VBACs, cesareans, diet restrictions, medical challenges, ALL birthers in need of support.

To nurture her community, Belle and her doula sisters of Birth Babes Collective, host Community Baby Showers seasonally. During these baby showers, families are able to gather some of the things they need and some they just want; receive extra postpartum goodies and extra knowledge too!

Belle attends births all over Philadelphia and the surrounding areas. She specializes in home births but frequently attends births at hospitals and birth centers all over South Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.
